Users & Access

See who is on your App Store Connect team, invite people with a role, and cancel pending invitations.

The Users & Access page lists your team's members and their roles, along with the API key Slipway uses. It also lets you invite new people and cancel invitations that haven't been accepted.

What you need#

  • A connected team. See Add your first team.
  • An API key that's allowed to manage users. Apple limits user management to certain roles, usually Admin. If your key's role can't list or invite users, the page shows Apple's error in a Couldn’t load. banner or a toast.

What the page shows#

  • Members: each person's initials, name, Apple ID email and role badges, such as App Manager or Admin.
  • API key · Team name: a row for the key Slipway is connected with, showing its Key ID and a Slipway badge. This is the key from Add your first team.
  • PENDING INVITATIONS: invitations that haven't been accepted yet, each with its expiry date. This section only appears when you have pending invitations.

Invite someone#

  1. Under INVITE, fill in First, Last and email.
  2. Pick a role: App Manager, Developer, Marketing, Customer Support or Admin.
  3. Click Invite….

When Apple accepts the request, you'll see Invitation sent and the person appears under PENDING INVITATIONS. Apple emails them the invitation. Invitations expire after 30 days.

What the roles cover, in short:

Role Covers
Admin Everything, including pricing and users
App Manager Releases and TestFlight, but no financial data
Developer, Marketing, Customer Support Apple's narrower roles. See Apple's role documentation for the details.

Cancel an invitation#

  1. Next to the invitation, click Cancel….
  2. Confirm with Cancel Invitation, or choose Keep Invitation to back out.

Once cancelled, their invitation link stops working. To add the person later, send a new invitation.

What Slipway doesn't do here#

Slipway doesn't change existing members' roles or remove people from the team. Do that in Users and Access in App Store Connect.

When you create an app with File ▸ New App…, you can give selected team members access to the new app as part of that flow. See The apps list and sidebar.

API key roles#

An API key keeps the role it was created with. That role decides what Slipway can do for that team, on this page and everywhere else. Slipway asks for an App Manager key when you connect a team. App Manager covers releases, TestFlight and metadata, but not user management or financial reports. If you need those, create a second key with a broader role and add it under Settings ▸ Accounts. See Create an App Store Connect API key.

Warning — Treat an Admin key like an admin password. Slipway keeps it in your Mac's Keychain, but anyone with the .p8 file can act as an admin on your team.
