These three pages are under Marketing in the left sidebar: In-App Events, Custom Pages and Experiments. Custom pages and experiments can use screenshots straight from the screenshot studio, so you don't have to export and drag files around.
In-App Events#
In-App Events lists the app's events. Each card shows the event's reference name, badge, purpose, dates and state. The page is read-only. Click New Event to open the app's events page in App Store Connect, then create or edit events there.
Note — Event card art is 1920×1080. The studio's Mac size is a quick way to make it.
Custom Product Pages#
Custom product pages are versions of your App Store page made for one audience, such as an ad campaign or a podcast read. Each one has its own screenshots and promotional text. The app name and ratings are the same as on your default page.
The list shows each page's name, its deep link (click the copy icon to copy it), whether it's Visible or Hidden, and the state of its latest version. Preview at the top shows your default product page the way customers see it.
Create a page#
- Type a name in New page name and click Create.
- Slipway creates the page in your primary language. Until you add its own screenshots, it shows your default page's screenshots.
- Click the page's card to open its editor below the list.
Edit a page#
- Pick a language with the language switcher, or add one with Add Locale. Only languages your listing already has are offered.
- Write the Promotional Text (170 characters, with a live counter) and click Save.
- Under Screenshots, add images for each device:
- Add Device adds a row for another screenshot size.
- The + at the end of a row offers From Asset Library…, which shows only images that fit that device, and Choose Files… for PNG or JPEG files. The file picker opens in the studio's exported screenshots for that language.
- Use Studio Renders renders your studio design onto the page. Choose a Studio locale, tick the device sizes, and click Render & Place. This replaces the page's screenshots for those devices in the language you're editing.
- Use the arrows under a thumbnail to change its order, or × to take it off the page.
Apple only accepts edits while a page version is being prepared (or after it's been rejected). If the page is live or in review, you'll see a banner. Click New Version to start an editable version.
Rename, hide or delete#
Use the … menu on a page's card for Rename, Hide/Show, and Delete…. You can't delete a page while it's waiting for review or in review. Deleting a page breaks its deep link and can't be undone.
Note — Slipway doesn't submit custom pages for review. When a page is ready, submit it in App Store Connect.
Experiments#
Experiments runs product page tests: up to three treatments compared against your default product page. The page header says the same.
Set up a test#
- Click New Test. Enter a Reference name, choose the platform, and set Traffic (5–100%, default 30%). Traffic is the share of visitors who see a treatment instead of your default page, split evenly between treatments.
- Click Create Test. Slipway selects the new test so you can add treatments.
- Under Treatments, enter a Treatment name, plus an Alternate icon name (optional) if the treatment tests an icon. Click Add Treatment. You can add up to three.
- On each treatment, click Add locale, then click a language to open its screenshots panel.
- Add screenshots one of two ways:
- Studio: pick the language and device sizes, then click Render & Place.
- Library: pick a device group, click Browse Library, then click a thumbnail to place it.
- Reorder or remove screenshots with the controls under each thumbnail.
Apple's API can't base a test on a custom product page, so every test compares against your default page.
Run it#
- If the test needs App Review (the inspector shows App Review: Required), submit it in App Store Connect once every treatment has screenshots. Start it after it's approved.
- Start appears once a test can start. A running test shows Running, and you can Stop… it. A stopped test can't be restarted.
- You can change treatments only before a test is submitted or started.
- Delete… is available unless the test is running or in review.
The inspector shows State, Traffic, Per treatment, Started, Ends, App Review and the test ID. Apple doesn't provide conversion results through the API. Use Results are in App Store Connect ↗ to see them there.
Tips#
- Wait for at least 90% confidence before applying a winner. Early leads often flip. Tests can run for up to 90 days.
- Screenshots you place on a custom page or a treatment are uploaded to the app's Asset Library, so you can reuse them later from From Asset Library… or Browse Library.
