Two pages that help people find your app: Nominations pitches a launch or update to Apple's editorial team, and Accessibility declares which accessibility features the app supports. Nominations is under Marketing in the left sidebar, and Accessibility is under App.
Not yet verified — Both pages use App Store Connect API endpoints (
nominationsandaccessibilityDeclarations) that Slipway implements from Apple's published API shapes but hasn't yet tested against the live API. After you submit, check the result in App Store Connect.
Nominations#
A nomination tells the App Store editorial team about something worth featuring: a launch, a major update, or new content. It's a pitch, not a guarantee. Apple usually only replies if they feature the app.
What you need#
- Something specific and dated to pitch.
- Current screenshots. Editors look at your product page, so update it first; see Screenshot studio.
File a nomination#
- Open the app and click Nominations in the sidebar.
- Choose the type: App enhancement, App launch or New content.
- Enter a Nomination name. To start from your release notes, click Prefill from What's New. It copies the primary language's What's New into the description and, if the name is empty, sets the name to the app name plus the selected version.
- Pick the date the news goes public. It defaults to two weeks from today.
- Write the description in the text box. Start with what's new for users, not a list of features.
- Click Submit nomination…, then Submit to confirm.
Warning — A nomination goes to Apple exactly as written, and Slipway can't withdraw it. Read it once more before you confirm.
Slipway files nominations in English (en-US). Earlier nominations are listed under Past nominations with their type, date and state.
Tips#
- Specific, dated news does best: a launch, a big feature, seasonal content.
- Adopting new platform features (widgets, Live Activities, visionOS) helps.
Accessibility#
Accessibility Nutrition Labels appear on your product page and tell people which accessibility features they can rely on. You declare them yourself.
The page lists nine features, each with a switch:
| Feature | What you're declaring |
|---|---|
| VoiceOver | The full app is navigable with VoiceOver. |
| Voice Control | Controls have spoken names and respond to Voice Control. |
| Larger Text | Supports Dynamic Type up to accessibility sizes. |
| Sufficient Contrast | Text meets 4.5:1 contrast throughout. |
| Reduced Motion | Honors the system Reduce Motion setting. |
| Dark Interface | Offers a dark appearance. |
| Differentiate Without Color | Never relies on color alone to convey meaning. |
| Captions | Video and audio content has captions. |
| Audio Descriptions | Video content has audio descriptions. |
Declare features#
- Open the app and click Accessibility in the sidebar. Slipway loads your current declaration, if there is one.
- Turn on each feature you've tested. The inspector shows how many of the nine you've declared.
- Click Push to App Store Connect.
- Publish the labels in App Store Connect. Pushing saves them, but doesn't publish them.
Next to the button you'll see "No declaration yet for iPhone." or the declaration's last state.
Note — Slipway reads and writes the iPhone declaration only. Declare iPad, Mac or other devices in App Store Connect.
Tips#
- Only declare what you've actually tested. Apple spot-checks labels and can remove them, and that looks worse than having none.
- Re-check your declarations after any big UI change.
