App Information & Availability

Edit app-level settings in Slipway: content rights, categories, support URLs, copyright, and the territories where your app is sold.

Some settings belong to the app itself, not to a version: bundle ID, SKU, categories, age rating, content rights and pricing. Slipway shows them on two pages, App Information and Availability. Both are under App in the left sidebar once an app is open.

App Information#

The page is split into sections. Some changes save to App Store Connect the moment you make them; others have a button. The table shows which is which.

Section What you can do How it saves
App details See Bundle ID, SKU, Primary language and Apple ID (fixed once the app record exists). Pick the Content rights answer. Content rights saves immediately.
Category Choose a Main category and an optional Second category. Saves immediately when you pick.
Age rating See the rating Apple calculated from your questionnaire. Read-only. Modify age rating declaration opens App Store Connect.
Support Edit Privacy Policy URL, Marketing URL and Support URL. The arrow button next to each opens the link in your browser. Push URLs to App Store Connect.
Pricing & availability See how many territories the app is in, the Base territory and the Current price. Read-only. Edit availability goes to the Availability page; Change price in App Store Connect opens the pricing page there.
Copyright Edit the copyright line shown on the product page. Save.

A "Saved" message confirms each write. If Apple rejects a change, the error appears at the bottom of the window.

What "Push URLs" actually sends#

The three URLs belong to your primary-language listing. Push URLs to App Store Connect pushes that whole listing for the selected version: the URLs plus the name, subtitle, description, keywords, promotional text and What's New. Any unsynced edits you made to the primary language on the Metadata tab go up at the same time. If you don't want that yet, sync or undo those edits first.

Editing a URL here also counts as an unsynced change, so the sync button in the toolbar picks it up too.

Copyright is stored on the App Store version, so Save writes it to the version currently selected in the sidebar. When you create a new version, check the copyright year.

Availability#

Availability controls the territories where people can find and buy the app. The subtitle shows how many territories it's in, for example "Available in 168 of 175 territories".

Slipway groups territories into four regions:

  • The Americas (incl. US, Canada, Brazil)
  • Europe (incl. UK, Germany, France)
  • Asia Pacific (incl. Japan, Korea, Australia)
  • Africa & Middle East (incl. UAE, South Africa)

Each row shows how many of that region's territories are on. A region's switch shows as on when more than half of its territories are available.

Change where the app is sold#

  1. Open the app and click Availability in the sidebar.
  2. Turn regions on or off. Turning a region on adds every territory in it. Turning it off removes every territory in it.
  3. Click Save availability. The button stays disabled until something has changed.

Apple says new territories go live within 24 hours. Removing a territory hides the app from new buyers, but people who already have it keep it.

Not yet verified — Saving availability uses Apple's POST /v2/appAvailabilities endpoint, which Slipway implements from Apple's published API shape but hasn't yet tested against the live API. After saving, check the result in App Store Connect.

Warning — Saving replaces the app's whole territory list. It also turns off "make available in new territories", so territories Apple adds later won't be added automatically. To pick individual countries, or to keep automatic availability, use App Store Connect.

Pricing#

Slipway shows the price but doesn't change it. Prices in other storefronts are calculated from the base territory unless you've overridden them. To change the price tier, base territory or a per-storefront price, click Change price in App Store Connect on the App Information page.

Troubleshooting#

  • Category list is empty. Slipway loads the categories for the app's platform when the page opens. If that request failed, switch to another page and back to retry.
  • Territories show 0. The availability request failed, or the app has no availability record yet. For a brand-new app, set availability once in App Store Connect.
  • Content rights or category change didn't stick. Look for the error message at the bottom of the window. Usually the API key doesn't have permission to edit app information; see Create an App Store Connect API key.
