The Alternative Distribution page is a read-only overview of your EU alternative distribution setup under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). For each app, it shows the alternative distribution key and packages. It also lists your team's marketplace domains.
What you need#
- A connected team. See Add your first team.
- Alternative distribution already set up in App Store Connect. This requires the Account Holder to accept Apple's terms there. Slipway doesn't create keys, packages or domains.
Open the page#
In the apps sidebar, click Alt Distribution. It's under Team, or under the team's group if you've connected several teams. The toolbar shows the full title, Alternative Distribution.
What you see#
For each of the team's apps that has an alternative distribution key, a card shows:
- The app icon and name.
- The number of packages.
- The start of the app's public distribution key.
- Each package, with a short ID and a status chip.
Apps without a key are left out. If none of the team's apps has a key, the page says: No alternative distribution keys yet. Alternative distribution is EU-only and additive; the App Store channel is untouched.
MARKETPLACE DOMAINS lists every marketplace domain registered for the team, each marked Verified or Unverified. The section only appears when the team has at least one domain.
Good to know#
- Alternative distribution is available in the EU only. It's additive: your App Store channel keeps working as before.
- Marketplaces install signed alternative distribution packages that are tied to your app's distribution key.
- To create a key, add a package or register a marketplace domain, use App Store Connect. The page reflects the changes the next time you open it.
Troubleshooting#
- The page is empty, but you've set up a key. Make sure you're on the right team in the sidebar. The page only checks apps that belong to the team you selected.
- A domain shows Unverified. Finish verifying it in App Store Connect.
